COMMENT:
This book is not so much a historical document, as a snapshot of the state
of popular historical knowledge just prior to it's date of publication (1908).
As with all old books of this sort, the reader should bear in mind that modern
data may be more accurate and based on research done since these essays were
written or on a better understanding or interpretation of the original data.
